Along the way he befriends characters like Killua Zoldyck, descendent of a line of assassins, Kurapika, a man out for revenge for the death of his clan, and Leorio Paladiknight, who just wants money. They explore the world around them and battle powerful foes, like Hisoka Morrow, the dangerous pierrot.
