Hokusai Katsushika at Uniqlo, Oxford Street London

As part of their UT Graphic T-shirt collection, Japanese wear retailer Uniqlo are celebrating the arrival of their latest range, Hokusai Fujiyama.

In conjunction with this and exclusively at Uniqlo Oxford Street store in London, you can now see on display original book volumes from Hokusai Katsushika’s masterpiece, ‘One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji’ (1814-1878), in collaboration with Japanese Gallery Kensington.

In the early 1830s, Hokusai (1760 - 1849) revolutionised the world of Japanese woodblock printmaking with a series of full-size colour landscape prints on one theme: ‘Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji’. Bestsellers in their own time, these prints became famous around the world just a few decades later, and had a strong influence on European art in the late 19th century.

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to see Hokusai's original artworks with their contemporary expression on modern day-to-day wear.

The books will be on display until the end of August, 2021.
